Inspiring Stories in Waikato

Inspiring Stories in Waikato

We've just kicked off the North Island leg of our national road trip, and have got a two-day workshop coming up in Hamilton at WINTEC in two weeks time on May 25th & 26th.

The Inspiring Stories project looks to connect up young filmmakers with young people making a difference in their community. Through the two-day intensive workshop we give participants core skills in storytelling and documentary filmmaking, connect them with local industry mentors, and help them kick-start a 2-4minute film project about a young changemaker in their community.

At this stage we're still looking for:

 1. energetic participants (aged 13-26) who want to make films

 2. creative industry professionals who could be mentors (these have been varied so far – filmmakers, photographers, journalists, media studies teachers...)

 3. young changemakers - people making a difference locally who we invite to come in and give a short presentation about their work/project for an afternoon
