Balloons over Waikato Exhibition on at the Cook!

As a part of the Balloons over Waikato Festival programme, Arts Waikato has again organised a Primary school art competition.  All the schools where balloons were landing were eligible to enter the competition.  11 schools participated.

 The judges were blown away by the quality of the art produced and picking a winner was very hard.   The overall winner was Leo MacDonald (8) from Marian School; 2nd equal was Neve Waldron (11) and Micayla Brolanovic (12), both from St Patrick's School in Te Awamutu, and Third was Jo Downey (11) from Marian School.  They have all wo arts supplies from Gordon Harris for their schools.  14 merits were also awarded.

All the entries are on display at the Cook bar & cafe in Hamilton East.    The public are encouraged to come down and check it out for themselves.  It will be on display from now until the end of the school holidays.
