Arts Waikato Educational Scholarships
In 2002 Arts Waikato established a scholarship programme as part of our commitment to strengthening the capacity of the community arts sector in the Waikato. The focus is on developing skills which will be of benefit to the Waikato community arts sector.
Applicants can be either an individual or a community arts organisation wishing to fund professional development for 1 or more staff or volunteers. The applicant and/or group must be based in the greater Waikato Region as shown green below.
Study should be for a recognised qualification or training, and courses can include arts degrees, community / arts development, management and business studies, Maori art, or further study in all areas of the arts. Short courses and workshops are also eligible for funding, provided they provide an opportunity for skill development for the benefit of the community
Up to a maximum of $5000 may be awarded for any one application. How much is available to distribute is determined by Arts Waikato each year but is usually $20,000.
Applications will open on Monday 20 June, and close on Friday 12 August 2011.
